Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Ra Market - Ba Be – Campsite

06:30: Get on the bus to Bac Kan. We will have a break along the way in Thai Nguyen.

12:00: We will have lunch at Ra Market Ward.

13:00: Get on a bus to the Boc Luom boat station where we are exposed to SUP paddling along the Nang River to Puong Cave and Ba Be Lake. Nang River is quite narrow, and strong current. The scenery along the Nang River is really varied, and majestic. The are many sections that run along steep cliffs, others open up views with narrow valleys or cornfields. The most attractive point is paddling through the Puong Cave which is one of the most enormous caves. As a strong current is a highlight and following the flow of the river helps us save energy in reality despite the long distance itself.

15:30: After exiting Puong Cave, our group will stop at a small island in the middle of the river to enjoy fresh fruits, and cold beverages in a beautiful natural setting. Continue paddling to the junction where the Nang River and Ba Be Lake meet.

We will go on an electric boat to enter the lake. In the summer season, everyone could enjoy swimming in the crystal clear water of Ba Be. Our stop point for today is a campsite of Umove Adventure beside Ba Be Lake and not far from Pac Ngoi Village. Just after arriving, we will have a welcome drink, and take the tents. Then we will shower and chill before dinner.

19:00: Enjoy dinner at the campsite. After dinner, we will get a chance to have memorable moments with our friends around the campfire before going to bed.

*Meals are included: lunch and dinner

Day 2: Campsite - Tien Pond - Dau Dang Waterfall - Homestay

07:30: Breakfast at the Campsite,

08:30: After breakfast, we start to paddle to discover Ba Be Lake. Paddle contouring to the cliffs brings us to An Ma Island then continue paddling to Tien Pond.

12:00: Picnic, and lunchtime at Tien Pond area before paddling back to Nang River. In the afternoon, we will conquer the most beautiful wilderness part of Nang River plus the magnificent cliffs. After more than 1 hour of paddling on the river, we will go to Dau Dang Waterfall. Leave the SUP at the boat station and walk to Dau Dang Waterfall around 1km. Take rest and photos at Dau Dang Waterfall, afterward, come back to the boat station. Get on an electric boat to get back to Ba Be Lake. If we have time, we could swim and relax in the green clean water of Ba Be.

16:30: An electric boat will take us to Pac Ngoi Village where we will have dinner and stay at night in a homestay.

18:30: Dinner, and sleep at a homestay.

*Meals are included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 3: Homestay - Trekking Ba Be National Park - Back to Ha Noi

07:30: Breakfast at the homestay

08:30: After breakfast, we will walk to the Pac Ngoi Village, and trek through the forest for around 2 and a half hours to get to An Ma Island. This trekking is quite simple because the elevation is not that high and more importantly the trail is clear mostly, with not many dangers. In the end, we will visit An Ma Island which is the biggest island on Ba Be Lake. An Ma Temple is really sacred on the island, after visiting the temple, we will paddle SUP to the lunch spot on the opposite bank of Ba Be Lake.

11:30: Shower, change clothes, and have lunch at the restaurant before moving to the pick-up point to board the bus back to Hanoi. Back to Hanoi around 19:00. Finish an adventurous trip.

  1.     SUP & Trek Notes.
  • On the first day, We will paddle about 8 km from Boc Luom board station to the junction of rivers where Nang River meets Ba Be Lake. This entire paddling interval is downstream at a fairly rapid pace. Physical is not a problem, but for those who do not have much experience in SUP paddling in a place with strong currents, it can be a bit nervous at first. You have to wear a life jacket, and a leg strap (leash) and should not stand right on the SUP from the starting point. After starting around 1 km - 2 km, when you feel more confident with the water, you can start standing to paddle.
  • When paddling, you need to avoid places with strong water flow or hindrances like tree branches, and rocks. Noted that, If you can swim and are good at paddling, you can take off your life jacket and tie it on SUP but do not remove the leg straps totally.
  • Our trek is quite gentle with short hikes, easy trails, and no high elevation. However, you still need to have the right sports or walking shoes for your safety and comfortable hike in the forest.
  1. Food and drink
  • All lunches are at a campsite, and local restaurant with a variety of food; moreover, with local cuisine. For dinner and lunch, fish, chicken, pork, and seasonal vegetables would be our main ingredients. Breakfast at the campsite is usually chicken rice vermicelli, rice vermicelli with ribs, or egg noodles.
  • In order to ensure the participants’ energy, UA will provide 2 energy bars/per person/per day.
  • During trekking time, drinking water will be taken from the stream by the porter team, and boiled to get rid of the batteries. Participants should carry a water bottle to fill with water every day.
  • After each meal at the campsite, hot tea and coffee will be served.
