Lung Cung is the 11th of the top 15 highest peaks in Viet Nam. However, Lung Cung is the highest peak in the Northwestern which is one of the peaks that we all desire to conquer the most. At the height of 2913m, the Lung Cung Trekking tour is in the rugged terrain of Nam Co Commune, Mu Cang Chai District, Yen Bai Province. This place remains the finest pieces in pristine condition with diverse terrain and the most unique vegetation that you have not ever discovered. Besides visiting the spectacular ancient chestnut tree, and bamboo deep in the wild primeval forest, you also visit the summit with many meadows nearby. In the ripe rice season, the terraced fields in Tu Le, and Mu Cang Chai are dressed in brilliant yellow. Lung Cung is also known for being a popular spot to watch the beautiful clouds and sunset with antique and charming views overlooking all of the Northwestern mountainous. Itinerary
The 1st night: Ha Noi - Nghia Lo (compound tour starts on every Friday nights)

19:00: Attend the starting point to get on the bus and go to Nghia Lo, Yen Bai. Along the way, we will stop to have dinner (if needed)

23:00: At Nghia Lo, we will stay 1 night at a homestay.

*Dinner is excluded from the program

Day 1: Nghia Lo - Tu Le - Starting point - A shack night sleep

05:00 Get up early to eat breakfast and hygiene, then get on the bus to Tu Le.

06:00 At Tu Le, pack the necessary things for the trek to Lung Cu. We can leave unnecessary things while trekking like clothes, we can leave them at the homestay in Tu Le. We will take a motorcycle taxi to move to the starting point of the Lung Cung trek.

08:00 Reach the bottom of the mountain and start to conquer an area that has diverse flora and pristine nature.

11:00 Have lunch near a stream. After lunch, we carry on the trek and go to the shack night sleep point.

16:00 At the Shack which is in the ancient chestnut forest. We will store our stuff and do personal hygiene after the trek. We can take a rest or support the Porter team to cook our dinner, take a walk, or enjoy the sunset at the Shack.

18:30 Dinner and talk to each other around the fire. If the weather is nice, we could contemplate the peaceful space of the jungle. Night sleeping at Wooden Shack has a layer to keep warm.

Day 2: A Shack Night Sleep - Lung Cung Summit - Nghia Lo - Ha Noi

04:00 Get up early to have breakfast, and then we will start the trek to touch the Summit. After about 2 hours of walking through the Spurs where there are many reeds, we will reach the Peak. 

06:30 We reach Lung Cung peak. If the weather is nice we could contemplate the sea of floating clouds. After taking pictures, and taking a break, we back to the Shack.

08:30 At the Shack, packing and trekking downhill on the old path.

11:00 Having lunch near the stream.

13:00 Get to the mountain feet, The motorcycle taxi drives us to the bus pick-up point at Tu Le. Take the clothes, take a hot mineral bath, and relax.

14:30 Get on the bus back to homestay in Nghia Lo and have dinner.

17:00 Have a party with many local special food of the Northwestern

19:00 Get on the bus to go back to Ha Noi. Around 12:30 Come to Ha Noi and finish the tour.

Difficulty of the activity

Difficulty Level (6/10): Most people can participate in the tour, children from 6 years old and above also can join with parents. It will be easier and more comfortable for you to experience outdoor activities if you have good preparation for physical training before the trip. The duration of each trip is generally 2 days. With those trekking tours at this level, it might take 2 – 3 hours/day to do the trek with the relatively easy terrain. At the same level, the kayaking and SUP tours, 2 – 3 hours/ days paddling with the large water surface, and plenty of times to take photos and rest as well.

Suggested physical training: Practice running or kayaking/SUP 1 - 2 weeks in advance. Run twice a week, each session 3 - 5km every night. Or paddling from 2- 3 times, each time is 5 km.

The customers who buy adventure tours from Umove Adventure have enough awareness about the level of challenge as well as other physical challenges and other potential dangers during the tour.   1. Trekking Notes: 
  • This is not a challenging trek with diverse terrains and is evaluated as harder as another route, for example, Lao Than in Lao Cai. It is considered one of the easiest mountains for beginners at trekking.
  • Umove Adventure encourages you to bring a 10L backpack with under 2kg weight of necessary stuff during trekking such as a wallet, phone, and drinking water. Personal items like clothes and drinking water for every day, food for mountain meals, etc. Porter will carry them.
  1. Sleep on the mountain
  • We will sleep in a shack on the 2nd night. An inflatable mattress, or an insulated mat, and a sleeping bag or a blanket will be provided for sleeping.
  1. Food & Drinks:
  • Meals at the mountain are hot and served by the Porter team. Breakfast is fried rice, instant noodles, or crepe cake. Lunch is an available food which is prepared in advance.
  • Drinking water will be taken from the stream by the Porter team and then boiled to be disinfected. The participants should bring a water bottle to refill water every day.
  • At the sleeping spot after each meal, hot tea and coffee are served.
  1. Protecting the environment together
  • Umove Adventure supports and practices Leave No Trace principles in each program and outdoor activities itself. We also encourage our customers and partners to apply the Leave No Trace principles when traveling in the outdoor environment. See details about the Leave No Trace tại đây
  • In order to limit the use of single-use plastic, Umove Adventure encourages each of us to prepare for ourselves a bottle of water with a 1L capacity for daily water refilling.
  • On the tour, tourists comply with the instructions and regulations on environmental protection at the destination.
  1.   Medical alert
  • If you have cardiovascular disease or bone and joint diseases (knees, ankles, shoulder joints, etc.), you should visit your doctor before deciding to join the trip.
  • A basic first-aid bag will be carried by tour guides. If you have health problems that require preventive medicine, please prepare for your own.
