Itinerary
Night 1: Hanoi - Sapa (join-in tour departing on Friday evenings)

10:00 Be at the bus office. We will depart for Sapa on a sleeper bus. After approximately 45 to 50 minutes, we will arrive at Noi Bai Airport to pick up those who have arranged to be picked up at this location.

* Dinner for this evening is not included.

Day 1: Sapa - Suoi Thau - Overnight Shark

04:30 At Sapa, we exercise to get familiar with the weather in the highland region. Move to the breakfast spot to eat and do the hygiene. You can store your unnecessary stuff while hiking such as clean clothes to change.

07:00 A bus picks up the group at the trekking point at Salmon Farm which belongs to Thau Stream Village - Ta Giang Phinh (far from Sapa 30km).

07:45 At Thau Stream Village, meet the Porter team, prepare stuff, and listen to the briefing from a tour guide about the trekking instructions.

08:00 Start the trekking.

12:00 Have lunch along the way. After lunch, we will continue to trek to the Shack where we sleep at night at 2800m height.

17:00 At the Shack which is at 2800m altitude, the meanwhile of the sunset. We will store our stuff and do personal hygiene. We can take a rest or support the Porter team to cook our dinner, take a walk, or enjoy the sunset at the Shack.

18:30 Dinner and talk to each other around the fire. If the weather is nice, we could contemplate stargazing in the peaceful space of the jungle. Night sleeping at Wooden Shack.

Day 2: Overnight Shack - Peak of Ngũ Chỉ Sơn - Sapa - Hanoi

04:30 Rise early to have breakfast while enjoying coffee and hot ginger tea before commencing the hike to the Peak.

05:30 Begin the final section of the hike to reach the Ngu Chi Son Peak. We will leave our belongings at a shack and carry only the essentials to the Peak.

06:30 Reach the Ngu Chi Son Peak, take photos, rest, and savor the scenery at the summit. After having lunch on the top, we will return to the shack.

10:00 Return to the shack to rest, pack our personal belongings, and begin the descent.

12:00 Have lunch on the way.

16:00 Arrive at Thau Stream, board the bus for transportation to Sapa.

17:00 Arrive in Sapa, drop off our belongings, and enjoy a herbal shower. We can spend the remaining time resting and relaxing in Sapa before having dinner at a local restaurant.

22:00 Board the sleeping bus to return to Hanoi. Around 4:00 am the next day, we will be in Hanoi, concluding the program.

Difficulty of the activity

Challenging Level (7/10): Requires good physical fitness and substantial experience in outdoor activities. This level is not suitable for children. The tour can last from 2 to 4 days with very basic accommodations and primarily involves camping. Trekking can take up to 5 to 6 hours per day with difficult terrain, steep slopes, and high altitudes. Kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) can take up to 6 to 7 hours per day.

Physical Preparation Suggestion: running or kayaking/SUP for at least two weeks prior to departure. Run 2-3 times a week, covering 5 kilometers each time. Alternatively, kayak or SUP 2-3 times a week, covering a distance of 5-7 kilometers per session.

4. Notes regarding the trek route: 

  • This is a long trek with challenging terrain covering the 15 highest mountains in Vietnam. If you have never climbed mountains before or engage in little physical activity, it's advisable to prepare physically in advance (read the section on Recommended Physical Preparation).

  • Umove Adventure recommends that you carry a 10L backpack with no more than 2kg of essential items when mountain climbing, such as your wallet, phone, and water. Your personal gear, including spare clothes for changing at the camps and daily drinking water, and food for meals on the mountain, will be carried by porters.

5. Sleep on the mountain

  • We will sleep at a wooden lodge at an altitude of 2800m for one night. Here, there are restrooms and bathrooms. When sleeping, you will be provided with an air mattress or insulated mat and a blanket or sleeping bag.

6. Food & Drinks

  • Dinner on the mountain consists of hot dishes prepared by the porter team. Breakfast includes fried rice, instant noodles, or crepes. Lunch is typically a pre-prepared cold meal.

  • Drinking water on the mountain will be collected by the porter team from streams and boiled for sterilization. Participants are advised to bring their own water bottle for daily use.

  • At the overnight campsite, there will be hot tea and coffee available before and after each meal.

7. Safety and Health Warnings

  • If you have a heart condition or any joint-related issues (knees, ankles, shoulders, etc.), it is advisable to consult a doctor before deciding to join the trip. The tour guide will carry a basic first-aid kit. If you have any health concerns that require medication, please bring your personal medication with you.
