The Fansipan trekking journey is not only a physical challenge but also a wonderful experience to explore the majestic nature of the Northwest mountains. The 2-day-1-night Fansipan trekking trip is a challenging journey but also filled with magical moments. From primeval forests, babbling streams to steep mountain slopes, every step brings special emotions. Climbers will experience different emotions - from excitement, fatigue to bursting when setting foot on the highest peak of Indochina. Standing on the top of Fansipan, amidst the sea of ​​white clouds, enjoying the fresh air and overlooking the vast Northwest mountains and forests, all fatigue seems to disappear. This is not only a trip of discovery but also a journey to conquer one's limits, bringing unforgettable experiences.

Itinerary
Sapa – Station– Fansipan Summit – Cable Car Station – Sapa

06:00 - The group gathers at the meeting point in Sapa. The tour guide welcomes the group, checks attendance, and briefs everyone on the itinerary. Participants review their personal gear and prepare for the challenging mountain trek ahead.

06:30 - The vehicle departs for Tram Ton, the gateway to Hoang Lien Son National Park. Along the way, you’ll admire winding mountain roads and endless terraced rice fields shrouded in the morning mist, painting a majestic natural picture of the Northwest region. Upon arrival, the group will complete the necessary registration with the National Park Management Board before officially starting the trek.

07:00 - Departuring! The journey to conquer the Roof of Indochina officially begins. The group will trek through forest trails, eventually reaching a wide area with relatively easy paths running along flat mountain ridges.

11:00 - Stopping for rest and having lunch at an altitude of 2,800m. Amidsting the fresh, expansive nature, the group will enjoy a simple but hearty lunch to recharge for the next challenging section.

11:45 - Continue trekking. The trail becomes more demanding with steep slopes and slippery sections covered with moss. The landscape gradually changes, as the dense forest gives way to lower vegetation - a clear sign that you’re gaining elevation.

14:00 - Reaching the summit of Fansipan at 3,143 meters! Checking-in at the summit marker and relishing the exhilarating feeling of conquering the "Roof of Indochina."

15:00 - Descending to the Fansipan Cable Car Station at 3,000m. Taking the cable car back to Sapa.

15:30 - Arriving at the cable car base station. The car will take the group back to Sapa town, marking the end of the journey.

Difficulty Level (6/10): Most people can participate in the tour, children from 6 years old and above also can join with parents. It will be easier and more comfortable for you to experience outdoor activities if you have good preparation for physical training before the trip. The duration of each trip is 2 days generally. With those trekking tours at this level, it might take 2 – 3 hours/day to do the trek with the quite easy terrain. At the same level, the kayaking and SUP tours, 2 – 3 hours/ days paddling with the large water surface, and plenty of times to take photos and rest as well.

Suggested physical training: Practice running or kayaking/SUP 1 - 2 weeks in advance. Run twice a week, each session 3 - 5km every night. Or paddling from 2- 3 times, each time is 5 km.

4. Trekking Route Note

● This is a trek with diverse terrain and not too dangerous among the 10 highest peaks in Vietnam. Although Fansipan is the highest peak in Vietnam, the Ton Station trek makes Fansipan not very difficult.

● Umove Adventure recommends that you bring a backpack of about 10L and leave no more than 2kg of belongings including essential items when climbing such as wallet, phone, drinking water. Your personal belongings such as clothes to change at the hut and daily drinking water, food for meals on the mountain,... will be carried by the porter.

5. Protecting environment

● Umove Adventure fully supports and applies the principles of Leave No Trace in all its outdoor tour programs and activities. We also encourage our customers and partners to practice Leave No Trace principles when traveling in outdoor environments. You can find more details about Leave No Trace here.

● To minimize the use of single-use plastic bottles, Umove Adventure recommends that each traveler bring their own 1L reusable water bottle to refill daily.

● During the tour, guests are required to follow all environmental protection guidelines and regulations at the destination.

6. Medical assistance

● If you have cardiovascular disease or bone and joint diseases (knees, ankles, shoulder joints, etc.), you should consult your doctor before deciding to join the trip. 

● The tour guide will carry a basic first aid kit. If you have specific health conditions requiring medication, please make sure to bring your personal medication.

1.When is the best time to join this program?

The ideal time to conquer Fansipan is from October to April each year. During this period, the weather is excellent with little rain, ensuring safer trekking conditions. From October to December, it is perfect for cloud hunting and watching the sunrise. Meanwhile, from March to April, the trek and the summit are adorned with blooming rhododendron flowers.

 

2. At what age can children join this tour?

This tour is suitable for children 12 years and older accompanied by a parent or adult.

 

3. Can I join this program if I don’t have trekking experience?

This is a multi-day trek with challenging terrain, as it covers one of the 15 highest peaks in Vietnam. If you have never climbed a mountain or exercised infrequently, you should prepare physically before the trip. You can refer to preparation guidelines for a trek rated 7/10 difficulty here.

 

4. Can I join this tour alone?

This is a group tour, so you can join by yourself. However, the tour requires a minimum of 7 participants to proceed. If the minimum number is not met, UA will notify you a week in advance, allowing you to either change your departure date or receive a refund of your deposit.

 

5. How much is the deposit, and when do I pay the remaining balance?

Upon registering, customers must deposit 50% of the total tour cost via bank transfer or credit card through Onepay. The remaining 50% must be paid no later than one day before departure, also via bank transfer or Onepay. 

UA will not confirm your booking until the deposit has been received.

6. Can I postpone or cancel my tour before departure?

Depending on how far in advance you cancel or postpone, you may incur a fee. If you wish to change your departure date or switch to another tour, Umove Adventure will reschedule for you and may or may not charge a fee. Please see our Cancellation Policy for details.

 

7. Can the tour accommodate my vegetarian (or other dietary) needs?

You must inform Umove Adventure of your dietary requirements, such as vegetarian or other dietary restrictions, before booking. We will check whether the destination can accommodate your needs and inform you accordingly. Generally, Umove Adventure offers vegetarian options depending on the tour location.

 

8. What camping equipment does Umove Adventure provide on this tour?

9. Can I bring a pet (dog/cat) along?

Umove Adventure does not organize tours specifically for pet owners, so bringing a pet depends on the consent of the other participants. If you wish to bring a pet, Umove Adventure will consult with the other group members for their approval, and you will be fully responsible for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring your pet’s safety.

 

10. What are the toilet and shower arrangements during the trip?

For deep forest journeys, latrines will be used, with rangers designating a discreet and private location for you. At the wooden shelter where we spend the night, there will be toilets and showers available for your personal needs.

 

11. Is there phone reception at the campsite?

Our campsite is at an altitude of 2800m, where phone reception will no longer be available. Please take care of any personal matters before starting your journey to conquer Fansipan.
