Tour overview

Lan Ha Bay takes the shape of a graceful arc, embraced by a stunning archipelago of over 400 large and small islands. The name "Lan Ha" poetically translates to a beautiful orchid descending to the mortal realm to adorn the world. While it may not feature as massive a cluster of islands as its neighbor, Ha Long Bay, Lan Ha Bay boasts its own unique charm with up to 139 pristine, secluded sandy beaches scattered throughout, such as Ang Vem, Cat Dua Beach, and Cat Co Beach. If you find yourself short on time to explore the entirety of the bay, a mere half-day of kayaking through its heart is enough to unveil the most breathtaking spots of this paddling paradise. This itinerary can be seamlessly arranged for either a morning or an afternoon excursion.

Highlights:

  • Kayaking through the magnificent waters of Lan Ha Bay
  • Exploring the mesmerizing Tay Keo Cave
  • Swimming in the crystal-clear waters of Van Boi Beach

Summer is the most ideal time to visit Cat Ba. The best months for water activities are from April to October. From November to March, the island is quieter, but it's the perfect time for nature exploration and relaxation. July and August are typically stormy months, so visitors should check the weather forecast three to five days in advance to ensure there are no storms.

2. What age is suitable for children to join this tour?

This tour is suitable for children aged 12 and above, accompanied by their parents or adults.

3. I've never paddled a SUP/Kayak before, can I still join this tour?

The tour has a difficulty level of 5/10, so even those who have never paddled a SUP before can still participate. Before entering the water, the guide will teach the group basic paddling skills and safety techniques. Guests will also have time to get familiar with the SUP before paddling.

4. How much deposit do I need to make when booking? When is the remaining payment due?

When booking, customers need to deposit 50% of the total amount via bank transfer or card payment through Onepay. The remaining 50% should be paid no later than one day before the departure, also via bank transfer or credit card through Onepay.

UA will not confirm the booking until the deposit is received.

5. Can I postpone/cancel the tour before the departure date?

Depending on how far in advance you postpone or cancel the tour compared to the departure date, there may be a fee. If you want to reschedule the departure date or switch to a different tour, Umove Adventure will transfer your booking and may or may not charge a fee. Please refer to our Cancellation Policy for more details.

6. If I'm vegetarian (or have specific dietary restrictions), can the tour accommodate that?

You need to inform Umove Adventure of your dietary requirements when booking, and we will check whether the destination can meet those needs and let you know. Generally, Umove Adventure offers vegetarian options depending on the tour's location.

7. What camping gear will Umove Adventure provide on this tour?

Please refer to the "Equipment" section in the tour details for more information.

If you want to bring your pet, Umove Adventure will ask for the consent of the group, and you will be fully responsible for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring your pet's safety.

9. Can I join the tour if I can't swim?

Yes, you can participate even if you can't swim, as long as you strictly follow the guide's safety instructions. Anyone paddling SUP and wanting to swim must wear a life jacket and secure the leash.
