Tour overview

Few have ventured to the most remote island cluster of Cat Ba: the pristine Dau Be Island. This untouched haven is home to Ba Ham Lake, a mesmerizing system of three secluded lagoons interconnected by subterranean caves, accessible only when the tides perfectly align. Unlike the more frequented spots across Lan Ha and Cat Ba, Dau Be Island remains wonderfully crowd-free due to its distance from the mainland and the thrilling bravery required to navigate its pitch-black caves by kayak. Beyond the sheer thrill of uncovering Ba Ham Lake, this extraordinary kayaking expedition will also guide you to other breathtaking jewels of the Cat Ba archipelago, including the magnificent Lan Ha Bay and the iconic Ba Trai Dao.

If your heart yearns for an authentically challenging and captivating adventure, embark on this unparalleled, once-in-a-lifetime kayaking journey.

Hightlights:

  • Conquering the thrilling and challenging kayaking route from Cat Ba to Dau Be
  • Paddling through the spectacularly scenic route from Lan Ha to Ba Trai Dao

Q&A
What is the most suitable time for this program?

Summer is the most ideal time to visit Cat Ba. From April to October is the most suitable period for water activities. From November to March, the island is quite quiet, but this is an ideal time for nature exploration and relaxation. Usually, July and August can bring rough seas, so tourists should note to check the weather forecast three to five days in advance to ensure there are no storms.

How old do children need to be to join this tour?

UA does not recommend children participating in this tour due to its high difficulty level. However, children over 12 years old who have previous experience participating in adventure tours can register to join if accompanied by an adult.

If I have never paddled a SUP/Kayak before, can I join this tour?

With a difficulty level of 7/10, this tour requires you to have prior experience joining other SUP tours at a lower level, or to have completed basic SUP training courses in order to participate.

How much deposit do I need to pay upon registration? When is the remaining balance due?

When registering for the tour, customers must pay a 50% deposit via bank transfer or credit card through Onepay. The remaining 50% balance must be paid by the customer no later than 1 day before the departure date, also via bank transfer or credit card through Onepay. If I get too tired while paddling SUP/kayak and cannot continue, can I stop?

When paddling, if you become too tired to continue, you must quickly notify the tour guide or support boat to receive assistance. Most of Umove Adventure's tours have an escort motorboat following for support. In case you are too tired to keep paddling, you can board the motorboat to follow the group for the remainder of the program.

Can I participate if I don't know how to swim?
