Tour overview

Hoang Su Phi is a district of Ha Giang province and is one of the most attractive destinations in the Northwest for trekkers and those who love taking photos of terraced fields. Different from the impressive and somewhat harsh scenery of the rocky plateaus in Dong Van and Meo Vac, Hoang Su Phi has an extremely poetic and surreal beauty of terraced fields stretching endlessly in the landscape of mountains, forests, and green streams.

» To experience Hoang Su Phi more fully, combine it with a paragliding tour to see the terraced fields

4. Notes on the trekking route

● Our trekking route will not be too challenging in terms of altitude or distance, although we will have to climb some small slopes. Most of the time, we will walk on trails connecting from one village to another. Some sections will take us through the forest, but the vegetation is not too dense. The trail is not difficult, but trekking shoes or trail running shoes are required. You may also use trekking sandals (such as Keen-style sandals). The average trekking time per day is about 5-6 hours, including rest time.

5. Food & beverages

● The meals on the tour are quite diverse and feature a lot of “local flavor.” If you have dietary restrictions or are vegetarian, please notify UA’s tour operator in advance so that we can prepare suitable meals for you. In cases where we cannot accommodate special dietary requests (for health, medical, religious reasons, etc.), we recommend that you prepare and bring your own food.

● In order to limit the use of single-use plastic, Umove Adventure encourages each of us to prepare for ourselves a bottle of water with a 1L capacity for daily water refilling.

● On the tour, tourists comply with the instructions and regulations on environmental protection at the destination.

7. Medical assistance

● If you have cardiovascular disease or bone and joint diseases (knees, ankles, shoulder joints, etc.), you should consult your doctor before deciding to join the trip.

Hỏi & đáp về tour
1. What is the best time to go on this program?

Ha Giang is beautiful in every season, but each season has its unique highlights. If you go during the Lunar New Year, you will see peach and plum blossoms like in other regions of the Northeast and Northwest. From October to December, the buckwheat flowers bloom, covering the fields in Meo Vac and Dong Van. March is the season for beautiful red silk cotton flowers. Additionally, there are white and yellow mustard flowers blooming in winter. The summer months from April to September are very suitable for SUP and kayak tours on the Nho Que River. Therefore, it’s hard to say which season is the best to visit Ha Giang.

2. What age is this program suitable for children?

UA recommends that children aged 10 and older can participate in this program with their parents or adults.

3. Can I join the tour if I am going alone?

This is a group tour, so you can join the tour by yourself. However, the minimum number of participants for the tour to proceed is 8 people. If the minimum number is not reached, UA will notify you at least one week in advance so that you can decide to change the departure date or receive a refund of your deposit.

When registering for the tour, customers will need to pay a deposit of 50% of the total amount via bank transfer or credit card through Onepay. The remaining 50% must be paid no later than one day before the departure date, also via bank transfer or credit card through Onepay.

UA will not confirm the booking until the tour deposit is received.

5. Can I join this program if I have no trekking experience?

This outing has a moderate difficulty level (6/10) and is suitable for most people, including those without much trekking experience. The terrain is easy to navigate, not steep, and the daily trekking distance is about 6 km. However, you should refer to the notes and guidelines for preparing for a trip of this difficulty level (6/10) here.

6. Can I postpone/cancel the tour before the departure date?

Depending on how far in advance you cancel or postpone compared to the departure date, you may incur a fee. If you wish to change your departure date or switch to another tour, Umove Adventure will adjust the date for you and may charge a fee (or not). For details, please refer to our cancellation policy.

Please see the Equipment section in the tour details.

9. Can I bring my pet (dog/cat) along?

Umove Adventure does not organize tours specifically for guests bringing pets. Therefore, bringing pets will depend on the agreement of the other passengers on the tour. If you wish to bring a pet on the tour, Umove Adventure will ask the other participants if they agree, and you will be fully responsible for maintaining cleanliness and the safety of the pet.

10. What about restrooms and bathing during the trip?

At the campsite, there will be hot water for bathing and clean restrooms for customers' personal needs.

11. If I want to sleep in a private tent, will there be an extra fee?

If you want to rent a private tent, depending on the timing of the tour and if we have private tents available, Umove Adventure is willing to arrange a private tent for you at no extra charge. However, if there are not enough tents and we need to rent additional tents, there will be an extra fee (which will be communicated to you at the time of booking).
