Itinerary
1st day: Con Dao welcomes you

Morning - Picking up guests at the airport or pier and taking them to the center. Checking in at the hotel, having rest and having lunch at a local restaurant.

14:00 - Getting on the bus to Con Dao National Park headquarters. Visiting the Environmental Education Center, learning about the ecosystem of Con Dao National Park through the system of sand tables, specimens, images...

15:30 - Walking into the forest to visit the ecosystem here. On this trekking trip, we will visit the 400-year-old Nhoi tree, which has been recognized as a Vietnam Heritage Tree.

17:00 - Getting on the bus to Tai Sinh Zone, a very interesting ecological education spot and also the most romantic sunset viewing spot in Con Dao. Admiring the sunset and having cold drinks here.

18:00 - Getting on the bus back to the hotel. Taking a shower and having dinner at a restaurant in the center.

After dinner, we will explore the night market. Staying overnight at the hotel.

2nd day: Exploring Dam Tre Bay & watching sea turtles lay eggs at Bai Cat Lon

07:00 - Having breakfast & drinking coffee.

08:00 - Getting on a canoe and taking about 30 minutes to arrive at the Dam Tre Bay.

08:45 - Walking into the forest, visiting the forest ecosystem. We can easily see Con Dao black squirrels, clouded monitor lizards... or ancient vines over 100m long winding in the forest.

10:15 - Snorkelling to watch giant clams and beautiful fish species in Dam Tre coral reef. Fishing at the coral reef with the fishermen here.

11:15 - Arriving at the ranger station. Taking a shower and changing clothes before having lunch at the ranger station.

15:30 - Moving to Bay Canh Island. Visiting the primeval mangrove forest; visiting the turtle egg incubation lake, listening to an introduction about the life cycle of sea turtles and the most successful sea turtle conservation work in Vietnam of Con Dao National Park.

18:00 - Having dinner at the ranger station

19:30 - Watching the tank crabs foraging in the mangrove forest & watching the sea turtles lay eggs at Cat Lon beach. Watching the mother turtles lay eggs directly under the guidance of the ranger. (No fixed time, the mother turtles come up with the high tide at night).

Staying overnight at the ranger station.

3rd day: Explore the historical sites of Con Dao

06:30 - Waking up early to watch the sunrise. Having breakfast and drinking coffee at the Ranger Station.

07:30 - Releasing baby turtles into the sea (if any)

08:00 - Getting on the boat back to the mainland. Coming back to the hotel to change clothes and then get on the bus to visit famous historical and spiritual sites in Con Dao such as Con Dao Prison, Vo Thi Sau's Tomb, Island Lord's House, etc.

12:00 - Having lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Free time to relax and explore Con Dao town.

18:30 - Having dinner at a local restaurant

4th day: Goodbye Con Dao

07:30 - Having breakfast at hotel. Checking out hotel.

The bus takes you to the pier or airport. End of the tour.

Difficulty of the activity

Difficulty Level (6/10): Most people can participate in the tour, children from 6 years old and above also can join with parents. It will be easier and more comfortable for you to experience outdoor activities if you have good preparation for physical training before the trip. The duration of each trip is 2 days generally. With those trekking tours at this level, it might take 2 – 3 hours/day to do the trek with the quite easy terrain. At the same level, the kayaking and SUP tours, 2 – 3 hours/ days paddling with the large water surface, and plenty of times to take photos and rest as well.

4. Notes on tour activities:

● The activities on the tour have an average level of movement and do not require great physical strength. The requirements for trekking and diving experience are also at an average level. However, this tour has a very prominent highlight: watching sea turtles lay eggs on the beach, which requires following the instructions of the rangers.

● Overnight at the ranger station on the night of watching sea turtles lay eggs has very basic conditions. At the ranger station, there are private rooms for 2 people or 3,4 people/room. However, in case of many guests, you may have to sleep in a hammock.

5. Food & Beverages

● Meals are local and include seafood. If you are allergic to seafood or have any food restrictions, please let Umove Adventure know when booking your tour.

6. Protecting the environment together

● In order to limit the use of single-use plastic, Umove Adventure encourages each of us to prepare for ourselves a bottle of water with a 1L capacity for daily water refilling.

● On the tour, tourists comply with the instructions and regulations on environmental protection at the destination. 

7. Medical assistance

● If you have cardiovascular disease or bone and joint diseases (knees, ankles, shoulder joints, etc.), you should consult your doctor before deciding to join the trip. 

● The tour guide will carry a basic first aid kit. If you have any medical problems that require medication, you should bring your own medication.

1. When is the best time to join this tour?

The ideal time to visit Con Dao is from March to September, as this is the dry season when the weather is pleasant—sunny yet cool. Notably, from May to September, it is the sea turtle nesting season, offering a unique wildlife experience.

From October to March, Con Dao enters its stormy and rainy season, making it an unfavorable time for travel.

 

2. What is the minimum age for children to join the tour?

This tour is suitable for children aged 10 and above, as long as they are accompanied by parents or guardians.

 

3. Can I join this tour if I have no trekking or snorkeling experience?

Yes! This tour features moderate trekking and snorkeling activities, making it accessible even for beginners. Our guides will provide basic instructions before each activity to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

 

4. Can I join this tour if I am traveling alone?

Yes, this is a group tour, so solo travelers are welcome to join. However, the tour requires a minimum of 10 participants to operate. If the minimum is not met, we will notify you 2-4 weeks before departure, allowing you to either reschedule or receive a full refund of your deposit.

 

5. How much is the deposit? When is the remaining balance due?

When registering for the tour, customers must pay a 50% deposit via bank transfer or credit card through Onepay. The remaining 50% must be paid at least one day before departure, also via bank transfer or credit card through Onepay. 

UA will not confirm the booking until the deposit for the tour has been received.

 

6. Can I postpone or cancel my tour before departure?

Cancellation or rescheduling fees depend on how far in advance the request is made. If you wish to change your departure date or switch to a different tour, Umove Adventure will accommodate the request, subject to availability and possible fees. Please refer to our Cancellation Policy for details.

 

7. Can the tour accommodate dietary restrictions (e.g., vegetarian meals)?

Yes, but you must inform Umove Adventure at the time of booking about any dietary restrictions. We will check whether the destinations on the tour can accommodate your needs and notify you accordingly. In most cases, vegetarian meal options are available.
