Itinerary
1st day: Exploring Dam Tre Bay & watching sea turtles lay eggs at Bai Cat Lon

07:00 - Having breakfast & drinking coffee.

08:00 - Getting on a canoe and taking about 30 minutes to Dam Tre Bay.

08:45 - Walking into the forest, visiting the forest ecosystem. We can easily see Con Dao black squirrels, clouded monitor lizards... or ancient vines longer than 100m winding in the forest.

10:15 - Snorkelling to see giant clams and beautiful fish species in Dam Tre coral reef. Fishing at the coral reef with the fishermen here.

11:15 - Arriving at the ranger station. Taking a shower and changing clothes before having lunch at the ranger station.

15:30 - Moving to Bay Canh Island. Visiting the primeval mangrove forest; visiting the turtle incubation lake, listening to an introduction about the life cycle of sea turtles and the most successful sea turtle conservation work in Vietnam of Con Dao National Park.

18:00 - Having dinner at the ranger station

19:30 - Watching the tank crabs foraging in the mangrove forest & watching sea turtles lay eggs at Cat Lon beach. Watching the mother turtles lay eggs directly under the guidance of the rangers. (No fixed time, the mother turtles rise with the high tide at night).

Staying overnight at the ranger station.

2nd day: Exploring the historical sites of Con Dao

06:30 - Waking up early to watch the sunrise. Having breakfast and drinking coffee at the ranger station.

07:30 - Releasing baby turtles into the sea (if any)

08:00 - Getting on the boat back to the mainland. Car takes you back to the hotel. End of the tour.

Difficulty of the activity

Difficulty Level (4/10): Everyone can participate, including children. The activities are gentle, so no physical preparation or prior experience is needed. The tour typically lasts 1-2 days. For trekking tours at this level, the trek time is about 1 to 2 hours per day, with easy terrain. Kayak or SUP tours at this level involve paddling for 1 to 2 hours per day, with plenty of time for photo stops and breaks.

● The customers who buy adventure tours from Umove Adventure have enough awareness about the level of challenge as well as other physical challenges and other potential dangers during the tour. 4. Notes on tour activities:

● The activities on the tour are of average level and do not require much physical strength. The requirements for trekking and diving experience are also at an average level. However, a very prominent highlight of this tour is the activity of watching sea turtles lay eggs on the beach, which requires following the instructions of the rangers.

● Overnight at the ranger station on the night of watching sea turtles lay eggs has very basic conditions. At the ranger station, there are private rooms for 2 people or 3,4 people/room. However, in case of many guests, you may have to sleep in a hammock.

5. Food & Beverages

● Meals are local and include seafood. If you are allergic to seafood or have any food restrictions, please let Umove Adventure know when booking your tour.

6. Protecting the environment together

● In order to limit the use of single-use plastic, Umove Adventure encourages each of us to prepare for ourselves a bottle of water with a 1L capacity for daily water refilling.

● On the tour, tourists comply with the instructions and regulations on environmental protection at the destination. 

7. Medical assistance

● If you have cardiovascular disease or bone and joint diseases (knees, ankles, shoulder joints, etc.), you should consult your doctor before deciding to join the trip. 

● The tour guide will carry a basic first aid kit. If you have any medical problems that require medication, you should bring your own medication.

1. When is the best time to join this tour?

The ideal time to visit Con Dao is from March to September, during the dry season when the weather is pleasant—sunny yet cool.
Notably, May to September is the sea turtle nesting season, offering a unique wildlife experience.

From October to March, Con Dao experiences its rainy and stormy season, making it less suitable for travel.

 

2. What is the minimum age for children to join the tour?

This tour is suitable for children aged 10 and above, provided they are accompanied by parents or guardians.

 

3. Can I join the tour if I don’t have experience in trekking and snorkelling?

This tour includes trekking and snorkelling at an average difficulty level, so even if you have no experience, you can still participate. Before performing the activities, our tour guide will give you basic instructions.

 

4. Can I join the tour if I am traveling alone?

Yes, this is a group tour, so solo travelers are welcome. However, the tour requires a minimum of 4 participants to operate. If the minimum is not met, we will notify you 2-4 weeks before departure, allowing you to either reschedule or receive a full refund of your deposit.

 

5. How much is the deposit? When is the remaining balance due?

When registering for the tour, customers must pay a 50% deposit via bank transfer or credit card through Onepay. The remaining 50% must be paid at least one day before departure, also via bank transfer or credit card through Onepay. 

UA will not confirm the booking until the deposit for the tour has been received.

 

6. Can I postpone or cancel my tour before departure?

Cancellation or rescheduling fees depend on how far in advance the request is made. If you wish to change your departure date or switch to a different tour, Umove Adventure will accommodate the request, subject to availability and possible fees.
